I think the defining moment of this wedding for me is the toasts. Meaningful, emotional, heartfelt all around. The dads, the friends who stood up, everybody. Tears and more tears. Hilarious laughter, not a single bored soul at the dinner (as is prone to happen when there are a lot of toasts).
But MAN. The toast that blew me away was Stuart’s toast to Tara. It had to have been one of the most beautiful speeches I’ve ever had the privilege of hearing a groom give. Tara was an absolutely lovely bride but in that moment, as she listened to Stuart tell her and all their nearest and dearest friends how much he loves her, how much he cherishes their relationship, and how proud he is of her and their gorgeous baby boy, in that moment I thought her heart might burst. Happiness radiated out of her every pore.
She wasn’t the only one who was overjoyed. Stuart’s parents couldn’t have been prouder of him in that moment. And Tara’s parents looked unbelievably happy to know they were entrusting their daughter to a man worthy of her, even though she’s living so far away from her native country of Canada.
The day was simply wonderful. I have no more words so I’ll let the pictures do the talking from here on out.
PS. HUGE thanks to my good friend Xanthe for coming along, she’s an amazing Newcastle wedding photographer, you can check out her work here!
